8 Weeks Pregnant & Another Appt at HIVF

We had our 8 week appt at HIVF at 11am this morning. Dr. Hickman was once again pleased to share great news with us. Everything looked great for me again and we saw rapidly growing babies! They have more then doubled their size at this point. They've come a long way from "grains of rice" to "snowmen shapes". Missy took a few video clips with my camera again which I'm including. You can see them from head to developing rump in these videos and hear all the information Dr. Hickman shared with us. You can also hear some very excited parents' comments! Missy and Jaren are so much fun to listen to and watch at our appts. Baby A measured in at 8w5d (that means 8 weeks and 5 days - so Baby A is growing 5 days ahead) and Baby B measured in at 8w4d.

Both babies had the same heart rate today at 174bpm. Great for this time in pregnancy! Missy thought that was just fascinating and so cute. :-) And boy could we hear both their hearts beating away today! Strong little ones growing in there.

Dr. Hickman took a little extra time to answer questions today and give us some fun information. That is always welcome in my book... anyone who knows me understands how fascinating and intriguing pregnancy is to me. I'll listen to anyone feeding me more information. :-) So here comes another video clip....

And today's pictures...

And here is our 8 weeks pregnant picture...

7 Weeks 1 Day Pregnant

Feeling much better today and we're 7 weeks 1 day pregnant. I definitely feel like I'm "filling out" already. Crazy how fast my belly is swelling this time. But this is technically my 5th pregnancy (had a miscarriage with Anjanette & Daniel with our first IVF procedure). Any bets starting when I'll officially be in maternity clothes? :-)

7 Weeks Pregnant

We're 7 weeks pregnant today! I don't have a picture being that I wasn't up to taking one. Not feeling so hot this afternoon. Talk about having a big case of the queesies! And it wouldn't seem to go away no matter what I tried. Good thing is we're only 5 weeks away from the end of the first trimester! Then "morning" sickness is supposed to wrap up. Only time will tell... watch for our 7 weeks picture to be added very soon!

We're having.....

We had our first sonogram about with Dr. Hickman at Houston IVF (HIVF) at 11:30am today as well as lab work... again. Everything looked great! Along with the two sacs holding two fetal poles with two very healthy heart beats! That's right, we're having TWINS! Missy and Jaren were SO entertaining! We heard several "Oh Wows" and "That's Crazy" along with "Oh My Gosh". I tried my best to just lay there quietly on the exam table and let them enjoy their moment but I was TOO excited. My gut feeling knew we were having twins from the beginning so that wasn't much of a surprise. But seeing two very healthy hearts beating and no pools of blood/ bleeds was wonderful.

And the best part was the baby's heartbeats were strong enough at a mere 6 weeks gestation to hear their heartbeats as well as see them on the monitor. Talk about an amazing moment to be part of! Missy took video clips of our sonogram with my little camera. Baby A's heartbeat is loud enough to hear and although we were able to hear Baby B's it was not quite loud enough to pick up on video. Dr. Hickman was very pleased with what we saw. He let us know he likes to see heart rates at least 100 or higher. Baby A's heart rate was 123 and and is measuring at exactly 6 weeks gestation. Baby B's heart rate was 117 and is measuring 6 weeks 2 days gestation (growing a little ahead!)
.
Our next appt will be in another two weeks. That's Wednesday, July 22, at 11:00am. We'll be 8 weeks along at that point and the babies will look more like snowman in the sonogram pictures then grains of rice like today. Here's our 6 weeks pregnant picture together....

After all the fun news and making our way out of HIVF Missy and Jaren's calls and texts began. Sharing the news seemed to be more fun then finding it out! They were so cute! I of course made my few calls and said everyone else will wait for the blog update!

(On the phone with their Dads sharing the TWINS news!)
We went to Chili's for a quick lunch before Jaren got back to work and I got on the road to home.

While waiting for our lunch I gave them a celebration first baby gift. Matching St. Patrick's Day onesies! Hmm... how did I know our due date would be in the month of March. :-)
They were so cute with this too!

Waited all afternoon to hear my lab results from Barb. Got the call about 45 minutes from home that my body seemed to be starting to make estrogen on it's own (yeah!) and my level is 532. Only needs to be at 300 so I got to take one of those awful Vivelle patches off (I'm having an awful allergic reaction to the adhesive so getting these things off is a celebration for me!) My progesterone level was 80-100 and only needs to be 30 so looking great as well. I cannot wean off that med just yet being that progesterone is what feeds the pregnancy/babies until the placenta develops. A few more weeks of those shots (in the rear). But all is good! More good news.... I have permission to go swimming again! So excited about that too! And one last bit of news before I wrap this up. Our due date is March 3! Lucky Uncle Shawn (Missy's big brother) may very well share his birthday with his twin niece(s)/nephew(s)!! Lucky Uncle Shawn!!

6 Weeks Pregnant

We are exactly 6 weeks pregnant today, July 8th! Do you know what that means? We have our first sonogram today in Houston and will see how many little heart beats are in there! SO excited!!!
